NSUI HOLDS CANDLE MARCH AGAINST MANIPUR VIOLENCE AND PRIME MINISTER’S SILENCE

Ludhiana,July 26, 2023, (Harpreet Singh Jassowal):-  Under the leadership of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) President Isherpreet Singh Sidhu, workers, supporters and office bearers of NSUI staged Candle March at Kipps Market in Ludhiana to register their anger against the violence in Manipur and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on the serious matter.

The march was led by NSUI President, who said that the violence in Manipur was “Grave Injustice” to the people of Manipur who had voted for the BJP government in the state for progress, peace and prosperity but all the got was devastation and bloodshed!

Accusing the Prime Minister of deliberately ignoring Manipur, which was burning for about three months, Sidhu said that it was absolutely ‘unacceptable’. Both the PM and the CM can’t get away from their duties and responsibilities towards the state and they just cannot remain silent on the issue, he said.

The candle march was attended by hundreds of NSUI members and students. The participants raised slogans and demanded justice for the victims of the violence in Manipur. The victims, bereaved families and those who lost everything in the Manipur violence are demanding justice, the Prime Minister must respond, he is answerable to all those who are facing the heat in Manipur,” rued Sidhu.
